Ingredients (Serves 2)
  • 300g pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or penne)

  • 8 cloves garlic, thickly sliced

  • 2 Tbsp butter

  • 3 cups water

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 2 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)

  • 1/2 tsp chicken stock powder (or bouillon)

  • 1/2 Tbsp sugar

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 8 shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Chopped scallions, for garnish

Instructions
  1. In a wide pan, melt the butter over low heat.

  2. Add the sliced garlic and cook slowly until golden and fragrant.

  3. Pour in the water, bring to a boil, and add the pasta.

  4. Season with salt and cook until about 60% done.

  5. Stir in gochujang, chicken stock powder, and sugar until fully dissolved.

  6. When the pasta is about 80% cooked, add the heavy cream and stir well.

  7. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and tender.

  8. At about 90% doneness, mix in the mozzarella cheese and let it melt into the sauce.

  9. Plate the pasta and finish with chopped scallions on top.
